Well balanced, fruit forward, round and smooth. Surpsingly light but no lightweight, holds it's own. Good start and better finish. In three words and in this order: fruit, silk, toffee. Solid buy for the price ( $16).

I enjoyed this cabernet at dinner at the new Heirloom Café in San Francisco, which has a killer corkage policy: bottles 2002 and older $10, otherwise $25. I got peppery notes on the nose. This wine is beautifully balanced and softened with a little age. I tasted blackberry, currant, bell pepper and slight leather notes. Smooth and light on the palate yet full or flavor. This paired perfectly with my steak.

"Outstanding wine!!! 60% Cabernet Franc and 30% Tempranillo. The grapes for this wine are estate grown. Deep red color with bright berry characteristics. Full bodied and well balanced with slight berry flavors up front and a strong earthy finish that stays with you. This wine is oaked but not over done. I would highly recommend this wine for pairing or sipping on its own."

"Nearly 10 years old, this wine is still full and smooth. It is also showing enough structure that leads me to believe it could have another decade in it. Ripe flavors of plum and blackberries mix with hints of cassis, licorice and cocoa powder. "

"The fruit in this bottle of Helios was certainly blessed by the sun. A beautiful bottle of Merlot. Medium to full-bodied. Rich, smooth fruit flavors with balanced acidity. At only $32, it's a great find. "

"Really smooth everyday drinker type of wine. Nothing exceptional in the profile, just a mellow smooth wine with a pleasant, short finish. I generally gravitate to huge cabernet and shiraz, but this is a very good wine for the price."
